We are pleased to commence the next election to the national board of the New Zealand Institute of International Affairs (NZIIA).

Nominations are invited for the three Board places that are due for rotation this year. These will be elected by NZIIA members.

If you would like to put yourself forward for election, please fill in this self-nomination form and return it, along with a head and shoulders photograph, to nziia@vuw.ac.nz. This text and picture will sit alongside that of other candidates during the election, which will take place online.

The deadline for nominations is 5pm on Friday, 3 March 2023 (NZST).

After 3 March, members will be notified of nominations and the election will commence via the Election Runner website.

The three nominees with the highest number of votes will join the four existing Board members on a new Board, formed at the AGM in Wellington on 27 April. After the AGM the Board will appoint a Chair and Vice-Chair.

To be eligible to stand for election, you must be a current member of the Institute. Current Board members are welcome to run for re-election, up to a maximum of two terms.

This document includes further information on the skills, duties and time commitment required to serve on the Board.

Board member Rt Hon Sir Anand Satyanand is not seeking re-election in 2023. He has agreed to be an impartial observer of the election process, to ensure that runs smoothly, fairly and transparently.
