Dr Hamish Campbell is a Member of Parliament in New Zealand with a professional background in medical science and a growing influence in health policy. He currently serves as Deputy Chair of the Health Select Committee, where he contributes to shaping national health strategy and legislative oversight. Dr Campbell is also Chair of the Cross-Party Parliamentary Group on Rare and Undiagnosed Disorders (CPGRD), reflecting his commitment to improving outcomes for patients with rare health conditions through greater awareness, diagnostic support, and international collaboration.

Known for his interest in the intersection of technology and medicine, Dr Campbell has advocated for the responsible integration of artificial intelligence into cancer screening and diagnosis. He also engages with how New Zealand’s health sector can better connect with global research networks, particularly through agencies like the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade (MFAT), to remain at the forefront of innovation. Through his cross-party and committee roles, Dr Campbell aims to bridge the gap between emerging medical technologies and actionable, equitable policy.
