Argentina: New Opportunities in Trade, Investment and Economic Reform
The NZIIA Wellington Branch in partnership with the Embassy of Argentina to New Zealand invites members to express their interest in attending an upcoming roundtable on the latest developments, opportunities, and outlook for Argentina's economic reform process.
Argentina is a leading exporter of key commodities such as soybeans, corn, lemons, lithium, and beef. It is the home to the world’s second-largest unconventional gas field and the fourth-largest shale oil deposit. It also accounts for over 705,000 square kilometers of high-potential mining areas, with more than 250 early-stage projects underway.
Argentina aims to become a key player in global energy markets. Its oil and gas sector is growing rapidly, with a strong focus on LNG production for export- driven by the new foreign investment framework called RIGI (Incentive Regime for Large Investments). At the same time, Argentina has major potential for renewable energy: solar power in the northwest, wind energy in Patagonia, and geothermal resources.
