Sirous Amerian is currently a Policy Adviser with the NZ Ministry of Justice. He has an MPhil with Distinction in International Relations and Security from Massey University and used to teach and tutor at the Centre for Defence and Security Studies there. He received his MA in Indian Studies from the University of Tehran. While in Iran, he worked as a policy analyst for the Institute of Iran Eurasian Studies (IRAS). His analysis and op-eds have been published by respected outlets and think-tanks such as the Atlantic Council, Stimson Center, Australian Institute of international Affairs and others. He was also the chair of NZIIA in Palmerston North.

He maintains a deep interest in his former home of Iran; his talk will be "the Iranian nuclear dossier, a never ending saga."
