Laurence Beau is a career diplomat who joined the French Foreign Ministry in 1992.   She has served in a number of missions abroad, as well as in the Ministry in Paris.   More recently, she was senior political adviser in the French Embassy in Canberra from 2007 to 2011, and then as Deputy Head of Mission in Singapore from 2012 to 2016.   She was Ambassador in Botswana before coming to Wellington.
